Good Morning Beautiful People!

I’m not sure how many of you pay close attention to the news but if you’re not careful you can miss some really good and even potentially life changing news. Sure there’s all the negative stuff with politics, welfare, the state of the economy and so on but there are also some heartwarming personal interest stories too.

Anywway, I mention all this because I thought I’d point out a few this morning that I felted needed a second look.

The first is the case of the young baby who was “cured” of AIDS. If in fact true and the doctors can replicate this, we could be on the very cusp of a complete cure. The thought of an AIDS free world is almost incomprehensible. You can read more about that story here or here.

The second is tragic story that has become all too popular. A young boy, just 12 years old got into a fight at school and then dies shortly after. I don’t know if it’s fair to call it a fight because witnesses say the boy never fought back, instead suffered a concussion, a broken nose and other injuries and then later began to have seizures, and doctors induced a coma. He has since died. So heartbreaking, and senseless. You can read more about it here.

While it seems sometimes that the world isn’t changing fast enough for gay right, we are reminded that change is indeed happening from stories like this. A young 8 year old boy taught his class about Harvey Milk, how gays were suppose to be bad, and why they were in things called closets? It’s a cute and uplifting story that proves we are marching forward no matter how tiny the steps may seem. You can read it here.
