Sozo’s Blog started out in the fall of 2004, when blogs were still new and everyone wanted one. It began as a place to connect with a few friends and stay in touch over long distances. Though a few posts have been removed, this blog has highlighted the good, the bad, and well, yes, even the ugly—from my uber-religious Bible thumpin’ days, and the times when I didn’t believe it was ok to be gay, to now, when I’ve grown, studied and know the truth… the truth that it’s ok to be gay, and that God loves me just the way I am. I was born this way, baby. From the death of my partner and my period of darkness that followed, there have been some bumps and bruises along the way, and even more starts and stops; but this little blog has survived, and so did I.

The story picks up again in the fall of 2008, when I got serious about blogging again, following an injury to my back. We took on our .com name in January of the following year. From then, we’ve grown and spread our wings. We’ve been picking up readers ever since and have blossomed into what you see today. In September of 2011, after struggling with the limitations of the blogger network and feeling the need to grow and expand our reach, we left the Google-powered blogger platform and transitioned to a self-hosted WordPress blog. Now, we are the only ones who control our content, and have full control over every aspect of our blogging experience.

For the most part, Sozo’s Blog.com is an outlet. I share what I like and what impacts me the most: from the beauty of creation… or as some like to call it, hot sexy men (either works), to my opinions on current events and politics. It gets personal, too. I’ve shared my struggles with depression, the loss of my partner, and the loneliness and sleepless nights that followed. I’m extremely opinionated but also open-minded. You should know that I tend to be bitchy, and I’m always right. Should there ever be a time that I’m wrong, the world is coming to an end and it shouldn’t matter.

Seriously though, this is just a place to share my thoughts, feelings, rants, ideas, and most of all, a place to have fun and enjoy the things around us. I’m not like some other bloggers that just look for the numbers, I appreciate each of you. I value the time each of you take to spend a few moments with me reading and commenting. My goal has always been to build a community—a place for all of us to share and exchange our ideas, thoughts, and even our beliefs on whatever subject comes to mind. I enjoy the comments, emails, and the friendships that have been forged in our lil’ space on the web. Bottom line: without you, none of this would be possible.

So, that is who we are. Thank you for reading and I hope to hear from you soon. If you have any questions or feedback, please feel free to or you can use our contact page, found HERE.
